I was surprised to learn that most sausage has added sugar and I have to find a pre-made breakfast sausage that is sugar-free. Jake has been diligently working on a delicious breakfast sausage that I can eat. I must say, he nailed it with this one. Enjoy!
1 lb ground pork or chicken or combo
2 tsp kosher salt
¼ tsp ground rosemary or 1 tiny drop of rosemary oil
½ tsp thyme or 1 tiny drop of thyme oil
1 tsp sage
¼ tsp cayenne pepper
¼ tsp red pepper flakes
2 Tbsp real maple syrup
Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
Form into patties and either freeze or pan fry on medium heat until cooked through.
Tip: You can use honey instead of maple syrup for SCD compliance. Honey will harden when trying to mix with cold ingredients so mix all ingredients except the honey first and add the honey last mixing it in quickly.
