Why Clean Living?

They say we spend about 80% of our time in our homes.  In that time, most of us are exposed to hundreds of small doses of toxins in our  personal and home-care products, from air fresheners to dish soap to skin lotion (see ewg.org) to the foods we consume.

The USA’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) concludes the human body can handle a small amount of toxins without any adverse effects. The products on store shelves all meet the standards set forth by the FDA.  In this modern day, each product we use could contain these small amounts of toxins and scientists are now discovering that those small amounts of toxins build up in our bodies, taxing our liver and kidneys unnecessarily and sometimes with great consequence.

Our bodies are over burdened with toxic load and we are see the effects in our wellness.

“It’s just a little.” They say.

But we the consumers are given the burden of proving these products harm us.

People tell me all the time that they aren’t sick, but then turn around and share about their headaches/migraines, sleeplessness, infertility, asthma, autism, adhd, eczema, gastrointestinal issues, unexplainable pain, sensitivities and allergies to foods and plants, and so much more.

We never truly understand how poorly we feel until we get well.

——————–

The silence from the decision-makers and influencers is Deafening.

Hardly anyone with powerful influence are talking about it.

The mainstream media and Government aren’t telling us about toxic load or body burden.

They aren’t telling us that because of toxic load, we have become a sick nation.

They aren’t telling us that the personal care, cleaning, and clothing markets are unregulated and that while the European Union has banned over a thousand toxic chemicals from their personal-care products, the USA has only banned 11 of those same toxins.

They aren’t telling us that since the introduction of “small amounts” of toxins in our foods and personal care products, we are seeing a rapid rise in poor health issues in otherwise healthy people.

They aren’t telling us about the outrageous growth we are seeing in diseases, disorders, and allergies in the people of the USA that aren’t genetic, things like infertility, asthma, autism, ADHD, eczema, gastrointestinal issues and food allergies, unexplainable pain, cancer and so much more.

They aren’t telling us that the average newborn has 287 toxic chemicals in their umbilical cords, 217 of which are toxic to the brain and nervous system.

They aren’t telling us about the people dying from cancer brought on by their environment (not genetic) at ridiculously young ages.

They aren’t telling us that since the 1940’s, prostate cancer is up to 200 percent, thyroid cancer is up 155 percent and brain cancer is up 70 percent per capita, and the American Cancer Society estimates a 50 percent rise in cancer rates by 2020.

And that’s just to name a few secrets they aren’t telling us about. (See cancer.org and ewg.org for more information.)

But we don’t need them to tell us because we’ve got this!  This is a lifestyle change, not a fad or a diet.  You have the power to take back your health and still enjoy this life to the fullest!

It can be overwhelming, I get it.  I’m here to help you find the first steps to living clean and walk beside you through the journey.  Read my Essential Guide to Clean Living or attend a free class or webinar.

    • I have made this dish for several friends and family, and it's always a hit. An excellent alternative to crusted pizza but without TONS of sugar and processed ingredients.

Pizza Casserole * 1 large spaghetti squash
* 2 cups pizza sauce - no sugar added
* 1lb Italian Sausage or other favorite meat/meat substitute toppings- no sugar added
* About 2 cups of favorite pizza toppings – mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, artichoke hearts, etc., cooked
* ½ cup aged cheddar (optional - aged cheese loses its sugar in the fermentation process so it’s OK for a no-sugar eating plan)
* 1 cup jack cheese (optional - jack cheese is also an aged cheese and has not sugar)
* Salt to taste
* 3 large eggs

Cut spaghetti squash in half, remove the seeds, place cut side down on a baking sheet, and bake for about 30 minutes at 400 degrees until the skin gives when you push on it. Or microwave for about 15 minutes. Remove and allow to cool enough to handle. Pull squash threads apart with a fork and place in a large bowl.

Add to the squash the remaining ingredients, except the egg, and thoroughly stir. I find it’s best to let the cooked items cool a bit so they don’t’ melt the cheese. Taste the mixture and add salt if needed. Stir in the eggs until entire mixture is well blended.

Pour mixture into an 8x9” or 8.5x11” baking dish (or any baking dish that allows the mixture to sit about 2-3 inches deep – I use two pie pans since I bake in my toaster oven). Bake at 350 degrees for about 1 hour or until the mixture is firm in the middle. Add about 1 cup of jack and/or cheddar cheese to the top (optional) and bake until melted – about 5 minutes. Let sit for 15 minutes before serving.
Note: I have made this dish many times and have learned that you can put all kinds of pizza toppings in the mixture as long as it doesn’t overwhelm it. This dish can be a great vegetarian dish!

    • Here's an excellent break down about the power of frankincense from my friend Denise Boucher:

Getting back to our "Roots"

The father of all oils: Frankincense.
This oil took me a little bit to get use to. But now I love it and can’t get enough of it.
Frankincense is incredible for so many different reasons:

1. It's an immune system supporting heavy hitter! Combine it with thieves and lemon and rub along the spine for extra support.
2. Use to maintain radiant skin. It’s ability to smooth the look of healthy skin makes this oil one of my favorites for aging skin. Apply neat or add to your favorite face cream.
3. When Stress Away isn’t enough I reach for my Frank. He’s always got my back. Diffuse or apply to your temples.
4. Frankincense has been used to awaken our spiritual awareness and connect with spirit for 5000 years or more. Diffuse during meditation or apply neat over your heart.
5. Wonderful to help reduce the appearance of scars.
This grounding oil is a powerhouse. 🦸‍♀️There are so many uses for it. 🏃‍♀️Go to your kit and grab it, open it and take a BIG whiff you won’t regret it. 🧘‍♀️
